What is Hand History Tracking?
Hand History Tracking (also called “Poker Tracking”) is the software equivalent of manually writing down each hand as it is being played, won or lost. Of course instead of keeping a pen and notepad by your side, poker tracking software automatically records all the action at the table, hand after hand. The advantages of this are immeasurable. For one thing, you can always reference the hands you play for your own analysis. Are you betting too many times pre-flop and winning or losing? How many times has the river card bailed you out? You can really gain a good idea of the kind of player you are and what you may need to improve on with this “poker self-reflection.”
However, the most powerful features in this software isn’t the tedious hand by hand data. It’s the number crunching. Or perhaps, more accurately, the statistical analysis of the play to determine you future success based on past play. Poker Trackers can quickly some up stats on every measurable aspect of your game play. And not only that, it will do the same on the opponent you face as well. The database grows the more you play.
Naturally, the sky is the limit with how you use this data. You can target players that lose more hands consistently as “weaker” players and go after them, or stay away from the card sharks in the pool.

Finally many poker trackers include HUD. HUD (Heads Up Display) allows a real-time ticker in the form of a little box with live-stream data updating. This box will give you the crucial basic stats for each hand/player and some will even suggest an action based on the data and the hand at play.
